Surprise NY trip!

We took a little trip to NY to surprise Krissy's parents. Oh what fun that was! They are such great folks for accepting us, crashing in out their day. The kids were so lit up with joy to hug Grandma and Grandpa Wolfe! Yes, pictures galore later. :)

We stopped for sleep in Harrisburg, PA. Hilton Garden near the US Army Heritage Museum. I think we'll mark that for a stop on the way back, maybe. The kids played in the pool and spa from 9-10. Long day.

We surprise Mom/Dad around 11. Spent the day at their house, walking around the yard looking at the gardens, trees, etc. We liked the tiger and valley lillies. I'll have to find some of those. The kids want seeds for xxx. Garden had beans, carrots, tomatoes, etc

Had lunch at Heid's. That place is awesome. Kris first took me to NY years ago to Heid's and I fell in love with coney's.

Joyce/Dave showed up. All sat in the house. It gets warm, as they have no A/C.

Found a Comfort Inn in Ceciro, NY for the evening. Has a pool, but much colder. Not adult friendly. :) Mom was freezing.

The next day, we stopped in at Mom/Dad's and picked them up for a walk in a park. Was nice, but hot. Snag dinner at Friendly's

Meet at the Zoo. All had fun! We saw sloths, monkey's, snakes, elephant, mule, horses, lions, frogs, roaches (eeeww), turtle, Ocelet (like a small leopard), bats, chickens, goats, skink, birds, peacocks, fish, bunny, otters, penguins

Took Mom/Dad home. They were pooped.

Took Joyce/David to Tassone's. Nice Italian restaurant. Had some nice 'bully" wine and finished up with tiramisu.

Went to Mom/Dad's. Said our good byes. Grandpa gave Austin an aluminum bat.

Stopped to get gas near Homer High School. Had to stop and get a picture. The Homer Trojan's. I don't make this stuff up. :)

Saw an on coming trooper turn on lights. Ditched at next exit. Stopped in Pat & Carla's Pizza - Chambersburg, PA. :) Pizza is here. Have to go. Pizza was good, inexpensive and no trooper. Win-win!

Sleeping in Woodstock, VA. How cool is that?!?

Up getting hotel breakfast. Only egg option is hard boild. For some reason a plate of them is not very attractive.

Lunch at Micky D's in Roanoke. Need to stop at Grander Mountain for some AAA batteries. Jenni's headset needs one. Must have DVD wireless headset working. :)

Car accient, upside down just north of Moorseville on 77s. Bottlenecked the road from rubberneckers!

Dinner with Damico's in Moorseville at Chick-fil-a. Kids had a great time playing. We had a great time with the Damico's. fun folks!

What a great, fast trip!!!

At the Waxhaw 4th of July Parade! Great family fun!!!

The Shaw's had a fun filled day for the 4th!

Just a few more great reason’s we live in Marvin! We started the day by getting a bite to eat at Di-Dee’ diner, great local restaurants were we pilled on the morning energy with some grits, eggs, and pancakes. Later we drove over to the Waxhaw 4th of July Parade! We brought along one of the kids friends, Logan. The kids made out like bandits with all the candy. There were clowns on unicycles, the Shriner’s on go-carts, music, big trucks, fire trucks mascots, a marching band, and a whole host of floats. We meet some folks from the neighborhood and watched the parade from their spot. They got a great spot to watch the parade. They had parked there at 5 in the morning to get that spot. I had no idea folks were lining up that early. Sounded a lot like black Friday shopping. :)

Pool Jubilee! As the truck stopped in the driveway, the kids darted for their swim trunks and off to the pool we went. There were a lot of people there this week. I lot of family and friends in town. We meet everyone; Culpult’s, Bill and Joanne, Don and Muara, McDermont’s, and everyone else! It was a fun filled pool. We had some much play throwing the football around, hitting the slide to se who went the fastest, and watching the kids play with their friends. And Jenni is really swimming well on her own. Kris and I are really impressed with how far along she has come We have to keep reminding ourselves, she’s only 4!

Fireworks!

Amazing day, climaxing at the peak of our super charged day! We had a few black cats throughout the day, but the big event started around 9. That sun stuck hung slowly in the sky. The sparklers were every lasting. I must have lit a thousand of those things. But as the sun gave way to the night, we started the big works. We did great this year, only to make next year even better. And, we weren’t the only ones. The community had a great 4th! I would say there wasn’t a bad sit in the neighborhood as fireworks were being lit all over the place, including our own!
