As the Word was made flesh, we need to deny self and strive to be peacemakers. What strife do you need to make peace with?

"Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God." Don't confuse this Beattitude with financially poor. For this poor is the disenfranchised, the outcasts who live in the mercy of God, who have salvation.

Thank you for your time today.
I wanted to follow up with our conversation today.
We have been studying the options and can only see redistricting as a strategic goal. Can the proposed lines be negotiate? Yes. It is a proposal redistricting and should be discussed and modified. The community growth has exploded beyond the current boundaries and some local schools cannot take on additional students.
Other options that I've heard:
1. Trailers/portables – This is not a long term solution. The issue will continue as students move up; elementary -> Middle -> High schools. Each school would need to be expanded in due time. The monies spent on trailers/portables would be better utilized on permanent school structures, long term solutions.
2. Year round school – As I understand it, this would be new to UCPS. As UCPS, students and parents are trying to get their hands around "Common Core", UCPS should not entertain another experiment.
3. Multitrack school - As I understand it, this would be new to UCPS. As UCPS, students and parents are trying to get their hands around "Common Core", UCPS should not entertain another experiment.
There is land to add structure to some existing schools, but not the funds available to the schools.
I would have thought county/city managers would have been able to project school capacities with all the permits handed out. Perhaps in the future, county/city managers could have residential developers put monies toward permanent structures of the local schools they affect. Some developers do this with land already.
I know the energy that several parents have put into their children and schools. This type of parent involvement will continue and positively impact others school and communities. Together, we raise a child.
With change, we need to start with ourselves, our families. We are all citizens of Union County, thus part of the growth. And, with growth comes change. We must embrace the change. Most students will move on in life; higher education, participate in the working environment, make new friends, and move into new locations. As parents, we must be positive role models for our children and help them with these life events.
In Him,
Best Regards,
