My Great Aunt Totter

I just received this memorial link for Aunt Totter that I wanted to share. On the right hand side there are links to pictures and a movie. It was very touching to see this since I couldn't be there in person. My brother, Danny, and I knew her as Aunt Totter. She was married to our Uncle Pokey. He had past some time ago. While this saddens my heart, I'm elated that they are now together again.

Father's Day

On Father's Day mom made dad a big breakfast at home: scrambled eggs, sausage, and toast. After breakfast dad got his father's day cards and opened his presents. Austin and Jenni made Peekaboo, Happy Father's Day cards.

The kids couldn't wait to help rip open the presents. They were interested in ripping the paper and dad was interested in what was inside. He received two "D-A-D" photos and a collage of Austin and Jennifer kissing.

In the afternoon we grilled and had Karen and Dave over.

After lunch dad took it easy and got some R&R time.

We love you, Dad!

Austin's Dentist Appointment

Oh my goodness, Austin has two loose teeth!!! While we were at the dentist we discovered that Austin's two bottom front teeth are loose. They predict that he will lose them in the next couple of months. He will probably start kindergarten in August with two missing teeth. He is getting so big!

His appointment went well. They cleaned his teeth with grape flavored toothpaste and then used orange flavored floride. And, good news - No Cavities!!! He got a Mater (From the Movie Cars) toothbrush and bubble gum flavored toothpaste to bring home.

Uptown Fun

The question is, “where didn’t we go uptown” Thursday night!!! I think we walked around more then we stayed in one spot. Let me see if I can remember.

  1. Met at Fox and Hound – 2 hrs
  2. a. Friend , Stranger, FNG
  3. Cosmos – 1 drink
  4. Alley Cat (Have A Nice Day Cafe) – 5 min
  5. Bar Charlotte – 30 min
    a. We all rode the bull.
    b. Stranger left
  6. Forum – 10 min
  7. Cosmos – 1-2 hours
    a. FNG left
  8. Forum – 1
    a. Had belly dancers.
  9. Coyote Ugly – 1 hr
  10. 7th street parking garage
  11. Drove Friend to Marriott.
  12. Filled up truck with gas
  13. Got a few groceries
  14. Home by 0300est

It was a good time. I've got this bruise that is larger than life right now. Mark of a fun time I tell myself. Work hard, play hard is on way to look at it. But my motto is, "I can't buy love, but I can buy atmosphere!"

Brown - Statesside

I just received word that my friend is back from Iraq. What a huge relief. Deployments like this are just like flying. The stickiest times are taking off and landing. I’m sure we have plans coming up here shortly. I just need to figure out where to fly to and order some drinks!!!

Sour Taste Of Charlotte

Here we go for round two. This event has slowly eroded for families over the years. This year has surpassed my expectations once again.

We all went down for a little fun; walk the streets, play games, and mostly wanted to enjoy the Adventure Village section for the kids! I purchased $20 worth of coins. The vendors over charge for the amount and quality of food they sell at the booths. It's embarrassing since we have a 'World Renown' Johnson & Wales - College of Culinary Arts located here now. We started at 2nd street and wanted to work our way to the other end. We turned around at Trade and Tryon as there wasn't much for toddlers to do. The streets were very crowded. Trying to navigate the kids around this mayhem was nearly impossible. It made for an unpleasant visit. So we headed to Adventure Village only to find it at the Wachovia Atrium. If you're not familiar with this area let me explain. It has full exposure to the sun by 1100est.

Now all the toys, inflatable rides, etc are scorching hot. How great is that?!?

WTF?!?

Who's great plan was that? Do these folks even have a clue???

My thoughts on family's with toddlers going to Taste Of Charlotte; Don't waste your time or money.

Brown - Iraq

My buddy makes the news a month after an incident in Iraq. It is still hard for me to deal with this. He has been there longer then expected, or promised. But we all know what we sign up for. This type of duty is expected. However, it is this particular duty I've got conflict with. Not much I can do about it, but wish my friends there, and all solders, well and get home quickly. I'm not a fan of the 'world police' concept.
