Dad & Austin At Steelers Game!

First Day Of School

Today Austin started Kindergarten. He was so excited that he woke up at 5:30. He constantly checked the time because he knew that he had to catch the school bus at 8:30. When it was finally time to go, he jumped for joy.


Our next door neighbor's son, Manny, is starting kindergarten today too. We met him at the bus stop and the boys got on the bus together.



Mom and dad cannot wait to hear all about Austin's first day of school!

Here is what Austin's teacher had to say in an email to mom during the afternoon:
"Hi, Austin is doing well. I have been assessing him this morning. He is a cute little thing! He seems like he knows what to do and how to act in circle. GOOD JOB!!! He went through the lunch line like a pro."

Open House

Today from 2 PM - 7 PM was open house at David Cox Elementary School. We took Austin to meet his kindergarten teacher Ms. Helms and his assitant teacher Ms. Pierce.

He was so excited! 2:00 couldn't get here soon enough. We met the assistant teacher. His lead teacher was at a doctor's appointment. The kids played in the classroom while mom filled out a bunch of paper work. There was so much to see. Austin liked the globe and a big sea shell that he could hold up to his ear and hear the ocean. He also liked the classroom hermit crab. Jenni like the dominos and a hot pink plastic egg that she found.


After visiting his kindergarten room, we took a tour of the school. We visited the computer lab, the media room, the music room, and the art room. There was a big, beautiful, circular window in the media center. Austin liked the canopy set up in front of the window.


It was a great experience. Austin can hardly wait for the first day of school!

Blaze Goes Bizirk!

WOW! What a wild ride. Blaze, our huge cat, just ran across the house. He started from the fireplace, over the couch, slid across the hardwood, and went through the screen. I’ve bent the screen back into place. You can barley tell. It was wild. I think he scared himself.

Jenni and Austin are eating breakfast. Austin had Reese cereal and Jenni is on her 2 helping of toast sticks! What an eater she is!!!

We plan to do a little walking later.
