Kid Zone Tea Party

Jennifer is attending a girls only Kid Zone tea party at Calvary Church. They are celebrating moving up to the 2nd grade classrooms in a couple of weeks. She looks gorgeous! Love you, Jenni!

Monday, Monday…

Button breaks on the way to the bathroom. I picked it up. Broken through, stitching still in place. I’ve been wanting to get these to the dry cleaners. Nature is still calling and I need to answer. I have some throne time to text my wife the day’s ordeal.

Me: Oh, my button just broke. Good thing I still have a latch hook, inside button and a belt!

Me: Come to think of it, am I paranoid about pants falling off. I mean really, all these button. Maybe it is for the stress that a pants' waists will endure over its lifetime. 

Me: I think this means I need to get my pants to the dry cleaners

Wife: LOL, Sorry Babe. Hang in there (don’t hang out) :)

Me: You made me laugh, jiggling my whole body. Now I’ve pee’d on the back of my pants.

Wife: LOL. Sorry. Wet and broken. What a day!

2 minutes pass

Me: Glad they have high powered dryers here.


Moral of the story?

Ouch!

Camp just wouldn't be camp without bug bites, blisters, and bruises! Both of Austin's ankles are sore. Poor guy.

Austin Is Home

Yea! Austin is home! He made a rocket in his space exlploration class. He got his "Totin" Chip! And, he made a knife holder in leatherwork. Sounds like he had a blast! He said leatherwork was his favorite class.

They didn't go swimming because all the rain caused the water levels to be too high.

We can't hug him enough! Welcome home, Austin! We love you!!!

Boy Scout Camp

Austin returns home tomorrow. We sure have missed him!

We just found out that he received the award for receiving the most letters/emails from family while at camp! Yup, we missed him!!!

Of course I started mailing letters the day before he left for camp... :)

An update from the Scoutmaster

Subject: Summer Camp News

Dear Troop 120 Parents,

 

On my arrival home tonight I'm pleased to report back to you that all of your Scouts are doing great at Camp Raven Knob!  Our arrival went smoothly and the Scouts were quick to take to the new surroundings with the sense of adventure that we hoped a new summer camp locale would provide.  This morning they began their merit badge classes and Mr. Spear, Mr. Schmitt and I were impressed that everyone found their way with no trouble at all.  They are immersed in Scouting now, and trust me they will sleep well at night--the sound of the rain put us all to sleep last night!  The program at Raven Knob has exceeded our expectations thus far, so we'll all look forward to hearing the Scouts' stories at week's end.  I'll send out a message on Saturday with the ETA for home once they depart camp.

Raven Knob Camp

Here is a picture of the Hilltop campsite and an aerial view of the place.

Austin is studying the Raven Scout (for the tenderfoot merit badge), Fish & Wildlife/Mammal Study, Leatherwork, and Space Exploration. The space exploration requires designing a model rocket, building it, and launching it. That sounds like a blast! :)

Enrichment Camp

Jennifer is attending an academic enrichment camp this week. It is being offered by two 2nd grade teachers from Sandy Ridge Elementary School. They are working on reading, writing, and math strategies.

Jenni really enjoyed it and, of course, made new friends.

Boy Scout's: Day 2 - Weather Fun

So, we are having a great dinner at Hwy 55. We order "Death By chocolate". Jenni's say, "hmmm, it's on a date with my tummy!"
