Shaw's with Steelers Hines Ward and Jerome Bettis!

Kris hooked up the family with one on one photos and autograph sessions with the Steelers top stars! I was so happy, and clueless. Even the kids knew what was coming. Boy, can they keep a secret. This was the first time I've ever done something like this. It was great. Ward and Bettis are the most professional folks on and off the field. They treated my family was respect, greeting us as friends with hugs and handshakes with smiles. It was truly a great experience. My hat is off to these professionals who craft their skills wiht honest daily hard labor. And yet, have the time to meet us with such openness.

Thank you Kris for a great weekend and memories I'll keep for ever!

Can an 8G SD Card Survive the Wash Cycle?

This morning I found an 8G SD card staring at me from on top of a heap of cloths after the wash cycle. It was accompanied by two coins; penny and nickle. The card was in the case, but it is not water proof. The card was damp to the touch. That speaks volumes to our spin cycle. :) I've got the card in a bag of rice on the windows sill to take advantage of the morning sun. This rice treatment is courteous of my friend Ben. I've read about his follies with electronics and its arch enemy, water. I'm thinking that since there is no moving parts we should be relatively safe from water damage to the card. But I took the precaution to let the rice try to soak up with is left. I'd like to make sure the camera doesn't get ruined if there happens to be some water sloshing around.

More later.

The stage was set for a memorial time!

The mission to acquire fireworks was successful. We had plenty to delight and entertain.

General idea was to start congregating around 4'ish on the 3rd. Each family was responsible for their own food, a BYOB event.

Weather was to hit low 90's with 30% chance of rain starting at 2 PM, which didn't materialize. Although, it did get windy for a bit. We were able to start the fireworks just after sunset, 8:30ish

Eve of Independence Ride

WWDC pulled a nice 100 mile ride of on the eve of our great Independence. It was wonderful traveling along the countryside, soaking up all ambiance around us.
